The size of the property is adequate for building a 166 bed hospital encompassing all other facilities. The site is located in a safe neighborhood and is within easy reach of other medical centres, hospitals and doctors consulting rooms.

There is sufficient on-site parking for private vehicles and the site is strategically positioned off the N2 Highway making it accessible to both patients and service providers.

ORGAN & TISSUE DONATIONS
You can help give the gift of life by choosing to become an organ or tissue donor. One organ donor can help save up to eight lives. and one tissue donation can save or improve the lives of more than 75 people.
BLOOD DONATION
The South African National Blood Service collects blood donations for patients having surgery or those receiving blood transfusions at La Lucia Hospital. We encourage people to donate blood for themselves or for family members and friends through the autologous and directed blood donation programs at the La Lucia Hospital Blood Bank.
VOLUNTEER
At La Lucia Hospital, Volunteers provide essential social support to our patients, their families, and other visitors, Whether you're interested in greeting and directing visitors or assisting with various other tasks, La Lucia Hospital's Volunteer Services can match you with the right opportunity.
WE OFFER COMPASSIONATE EMERGENCY CARE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
If you and your child have to visit the emergency room. we want to make the experience as comfortable as possible. At La Lucia Hospital, we provide treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for children who need emergency or urgent care for an injury or illness. Our entire emergency department is dedicated to the care of children, including our team of pediatric emergency care doctors and nurses.
Your Emergency Care Visit
As soon as you arrive at the KiDS Emergency Department, your child has an initial screening evaluation by one of our pediatric emergency medicine specialists. Then, he or she is moved quickly into one of our treatment rooms.
If your child needs more specialized treatment, our emergency care experts may collaborate with other pediatric doctors in more than 35 specialty areas to provide care to your child as quickly as possible.
We understand that being injured or sick can be stressful for your child. We provide a variety of age-appropriate toys, games, books, and other activities in our family-friendly waiting area.
Our child life specialists can also help calm and engage children who are waiting to be examined by a pediatrician or specialist. If a doctor recommends a procedure, child life specialists can help prepare your child and distract him or her during treatment.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Here’s What You Can Expect
Before you’re admitted to La Lucia Healthcare Hospital, a member of our staff will call you to answer your questions and provide important information regarding your hospital stay. Your doctor also may schedule routine medical tests, such as laboratory tests or X-rays, before your hospitalization. Other routine tests may be done on the day of your admission.
